I previously posted about this revolver that my son picked up. I reported it as a 10-5. It is in fact a Model 10-6 produced in 1969 or 1970. It’s mine now. Son paid $560 + tax. It was in a pawn shop being sold on commission. Looks like it has barely been fired. Slight turn ring, crisp checkering on the grips, pinned barrel, color case hardened trigger and hammer. In the market that I have seen, I would consider this a bargain. More pics added. Perhaps these better highlight the deep blue finish and the sharp checkering of the grips.

I’m thinking of making this my primary concealed carry weapon if I can find a proper IWB holster for it, or trading it for a short barrel K frame for concealed carry. A beautiful revolver nonetheless!

This is what a 10-6 looks like (pardon the nickel):

Based on the number produced and sold , I don’t think they are underrated. But definitely under appreciated.

One of the great S&W standards and in beautiful shape - use it in good health! The only bonus would be if you also got the original box and accouterments, but the gun is bonus enough for the price you paid. Well under $600 in that shape is great these days! :)

I put one on layaway 1-31-25 and got it 3-20-25. Advertised as a model 10 but no model on the frame markings. 4 screw frame and a serial that one of the fellow members dated to 1956.
I paid $399 for it and paid over 3 paydays. Good shooter grade and it cleaned up very well, a few lightly pitted areas but I have hand polished it for hours.
These are my favorite looking Smith and Wesson guns.
I have a later bull barrel model 64

Otis, you might check on eBay once every day or two, I bought a soft leather IWB holster new in package, I was the only bidder, $9.95 free shipping, for my 1966 M10-5, 4".. good luck. Clifford..
