Just wanted to share a recent addition. I wanted something for some soft "plinking" loads, so this is what I got.

Now thats a goodun from head to toe. Beautiful. Great looking grips. I have a 14 with a bobbed hammer that is just a hoot to shoot. Have combats on mine. Congrats, your gonna love it.

Regards
Bill

Congratulations on the purchase as that's a beauty and near new from one end to the other. They are wonderful shooters and now you need a K22 /Model 17 also as they weigh exacty the same so that competition shooter using the model 14 could practice with cheap ammo.

S&W took extra care to make the Model 14 one of their best because they were used in competition shooting in the 50's and 60's and their reputation was on the line.

I happen to have a 4 screw model 17 that was my Dad's gun. It doesn't have any of the target options, but it has a lot of memories packed in it for me. He carried it with him when we lived on a farm in the early 60's. I still remember him taking a rest on top of a fence post to shoot black walnuts out of the tree. It was great practice for squirrel hunting...

Awesome, I just joined the club not long ago myself. My 17 needed a companion really bad...

Congrats on a real beauty. One of the best S&Ws. I have just bought a 14-3 and I already had a 14-2. I guess one was not enough. Prices have leveled a bit with the economy I have found in some cases. This one has emptied my trading fund so now it's trade or nothing.

Beautiful 14s! Inspector Callahan & jepp2, the grips on your revolvers are gorgeous! Be warned however, that model 14s are like potato chips, you can't have just one. Here's my pair of twin model 14-3s:
