I used to have a nice Model 19 that I received on a trade deal. I liked the piece, but, at the time I needed the cash from the trade back out of the deal....bad, bad, bad! I have regretted that probably from the next day until Saturday when I finally found a nice replacement Model 19. I had been looking for an acceptable replacement for a year or more and poof, before the gunshow started, I was browsing and a guy a few tables from ours had a nice 19 and a renickeled 28. The 28 had been overly buffed and renickeled and the guy was trying to get me to jump on a 2fer....but, I didn't care for the 28. I DID, however, like the 19 and had a buddy that sets up with us go over and casually peruse it. He agreed that it was a nice piece, so, I hit the guy...and we finally met in the middle on an acceptable price that we both could live with. I brought it home and gave it a good cleaning and micro oil job and it seems better than I thought. It locks up nice, very little burnishing on the front of the cylinder, no flame cutting at all....color me proud....

Need pics and price for a full kudos, but I'll give you a conditional congrats!

I know how you feel,I gave my model 19 to my dad and have regretted it ever since.

I've been pretty tight with the wallet lately...haven't found anything worthy of opening up the wallet. My buddies said, bats and other crap came flying out and the Benjamins looked like they'd been pressed, they'd been there so long. The 19 cost me.....$440 otd... Yeah, I know that's a bit much and it pained me to go that much, but, it's the nicest one that I've seen of that time frame....(-5) and since it was a private sale...no NICS or tax, I could live with the price. I won't say what got semi-hard when I saw it, but..... yes, it's the classic lines and large square butt 4" lines that have always struck my fancy. Anyway, price was not the most prominent feature in the purchase...as much as the condition, availability, plus, I got a rush when I saw it. Pictures might be a problem as my only picture facility is my phone...but, I'll work on it.

I really wasn't sure about the price as I hadn't seen much other than GunBroker to check the price. The intangibles of no NICS, tax and shipping cost helped me on the price. I was hoping to get one for around $400, but, realistically figured $450.
