New to S&W Model 67-1

I recently purchased a used Model 67-1. Will it handle +P ammo? I carry this weapon and want something I can depend on. I'll plink with wad cutters, but need suggestions for carry ammo. Thx.

All late model steel and stainless K frames will handle +P ammo. Shoot as much +P as you want.

The Winchester 130gr .38 spl +P PDX1 is readily available at Walmart in my area as well as in the big sporting good stores. Its a bonded bullet designed for LEO and civilian SD use.

There's lots of good Self defense ammo out there. The older 158gr LSWCHP's by Win, Rem or Fed are good as are the Remington Golden Sabers now marketed as "home defense" as well as Federal Hydra shoks, Nyclads and the new Hornady FTX. For that matter any of the older type half jacketed JHP's in 125gr have decent performance. If you want something approaching the lower end of the .357 mag you can buy some Buffalo Bore.

Went to High School in Sierra Vista. I love Az, but can't get wife to leave TX. Thx for the info. Our WallyWorld here is always out of ammo, most of it goes to Austin, Waco & Dallas-Ft Worth.
