Hello to all S&W Lovers! I may be new to this forum, but not new to holding on to S&W revolvers! Turned 60 last week, and started shooting under my dad's coaching when I turned 8. He was a R&P Coach Navy Lifer, and last coached on board the USS Pennsylvania until a fateful day in 1941... I learned on his 38-44 Outdoorsman, which I still have and shoot. King Ventilated Rib, short action, bobbed hammer spur, a very handsome gun. I'll post a picture in the appropriate forum once I figure out how. I also inherited a Registered .357, Reg #1396 which my dad sent off to Japan in 1946, a hungry time there. He had it fully engraved, re-blued, and a set of ivory grips and filler grip made, with the grips engraved with dragons, all for $56.00! It is also a handsome piece of history. When I was young, I had no respect, and took it to college, where it lived under the front seat of my car for four years. Various other Smiths in my collection including one even older Registered. Anyway, I'm not the best shot in the world, but still after all these years, filled with enthusiasm, and very thankful to find this forum. I am looking forward to reading, and on occasion, throwing in my $0.02.
