new to the s&w from cali great info!!need help advice 29_3 mod

really could use some help and advice about a mod 29_3 that I bought in the 80's,I believe is the Performance Center gun,have only shot maybe 1500 rounds store bought ammo barrel is really loose,believe it might be a manufacturer's defect do you think Smith and Wesson would fix or replace,this is my pride and joy revolver,it is a set snub nose nickel plate
