I recently picked up a used, but not abused Highway Patrolman. Gun is in great shape...but, it doesn't have a nice, wide trigger. What should I expect to pay a gun guy to change it out to a target type trigger? Is there a trigger "shoe" that I could install myself or will that tend to be more trouble than it's worth?

Your thoughts are welcome.

Thanks,

There is a company in Oklahoma City that used to make trigger shoes. It was called Tyler T-Grips or something like that. You can probably Google it.

smithguy47, I have a spare trigger shoe that I think I took off a K-frame that should fit unless someone says otherwise, but pretty sure they are the same size. PM me if you are interested.

I have done a few installs myself. I am pretty mechanically adept and have most of the right tools. Being that triggers themselves are getting to the $50-100 range, I decided to keep the labor money for myself.
