New US Primer Manufacurer Coming

I don't think this will be the last new ammo company we will see in the US. As it becomes less profitable and more difficult to import ammo, more domestic companies will be popping up to fill the demand. The downside for shooters is less ultra cheep Chinese and Russian ammo. The up side is we will have ammo. Within reason, I don't mind paying a premium for US made.

I recently met a co-worker who's significant other works at Sportsman's Warehouse here in town. Since they haven't had any SPP on the shelves for the last 2 years every time I check, I couldn't resist inquiring "hey would you mind asking if they are getting any small pistol primer shipments?" We'll see. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Fingers crossed.

What makes us think that they wouldn't also be overcharging us like the big boys are trying to do by curtailing the supply....(?)

DON'T BUY,

J.

So they invest in a manufacturing company and then not manufacture stuff so that they can charge more? The more they make, the more they sell, the more money they make. They can sell every primer that they make right now so it makes no sense not to produce them. The demand is out pacing the supply so unless they spent their business school tuition money on beer, they, and everyone else, are going to pump out primers as fast as they can. Having the largest economy in the world shut down for 18 months is what is driving this, and just about every other, shortage right now.

A new American primer source will be welcome for sure. Right now and for years to come the analyst's opinion is the shortage will continue. Last year there were over one million new gun owners in this country. Many of they are shooting and now only when they can get ammo. I feel a new manufacturer with new machines will be a very viable business especially since the facility they are using was already an ammo manufacturer. I'm hoping they come online quickly and then expand into making ammo too. Of course this is all just my opinion.

I think that returning to domestic production of a lot of things will be a result of the last year and a half. It opened a lot of eyes to the fact that cheaper is not better when you have to depend on other countries whose best interest is not always in our best interest. Don't be surprised if you see companies like Intel start to quietly move a lot of production back to the US.
