New (Used) MP40c Fail to Feed issues

What popped out to me in your pics was the first one. It clearly looked way over oiled inside the upper. That's a nono.. I have found just light oil exactly where the manual says to. Early on with my second M&P I oiled the heck out of it, like it was going to make it run better than the perfect it already ran... worse day I ever had at the range. FTF after FTF.. the only thing different was the oil job and some aluminum cases.. I cleaned all the excess oil off, relubed it normally and it hasn't FTF since, nor has any of my other 7 M&P's... that was about 3.5 yrs ago. As for the shells rubbing looks normal to me.

Tear that upper down and clean it. Do you know the rd count?

Bio, I put an apex kit and trigger in my SD. Ill break it all the way down tomorrow.
Turbo, I field stripped it and started to spray tetra cleaner on then stopped to take pics. I was not fired that wet....but thank you!
Mags were very clean, but I broke em both down and cleaned em anyways.

I do not know the round count other than the 80 to 90 I put though it today.

I had some feeding issues with my M&P 45. It looked like this:

Is this what yours looks like?

I'm going to polish up the feed ramp, remove the extractor and give it a thorough cleaning today.
I'm shooting with Bio tomorrow...so if I still have issues, I may just send the whole thing to SW and see what they say.

hopefully after a thorough breakdown and clean it will work good. if not like i had stated before smith should have no problems transferring the warranty over to you and taking care of it.

have you tried running the mags empty without firing? just keep loading the rounds through? see if any hang up that way when loading? also while doing that keep an eye on the open breech, see if you can see anything it may be getting hung up on

As a matter of fact....yes, this morning. I ran through a mag of my reman hollow points. They weren't "crisp" as I'd expect, but they cycled through.
It's like that last 1/4 to 1/2 inch...
I broke one punch (1/16) trying to push that pin out, it was early, not enough coffee... so I picked up a new set today at Wally World while picking up 200 rounds of white box 165gr winchester for our shooting tomorrow.
Tonight, I have an apex kit to put in my GF's 9VE, and I'm cleaning up the extractor (and striker while I'm at it) on this 40c.
It'll either work tomorrow or not. If not, I'll talk to smith.
Luckily, I have my trusty SD40VE...if I have to send it out.

Just wanted to say, thank you EVERYONE for their input, advice and help.
I'm on a TON of forums, from racing to BBQ, have yet to find one as helpful as this one.
So Cheers all...stay safe.

Range report update. It was the ammo. Cleaned again, removed the extractor and firing pin, cleaned it all 100% and polished the feed ramp. Shot two mags of brand new ammo, not a single failure. Loaded a mag of reman, failed to feed the second shot.
Very surprised...but appreciative of the suggestions and all the help offered. It's going to be my edc, so if it wants to be a little bit of a prima donna, I guess that's ok...lol.

Yep...thanks Fast.
There is another reloader here that supplies all.the LGS.
He's 3 miles from me. Going to try his...if it still fails, just more ammo for my sd.

being a EDC chances are its going to be fed some $1.00 per round JHP of some sort. as long as she fires those. i wouldnt worry too much about reman ammo. i enjoy shooting my EDC which is the SD40. so i shoot more than any of my other pistols. but i have a hipoint .45 thats only likes factory ammo. and i spent $104.99 on a $250 pack of scorpion reloads before realizing this. it was bad. luckily a friends birthday was coming up and he has a glock 36 which is a .45 acp. gave them to him for birthday.

I also have over 80 rounds of reman JHP that I might throw a few down range as well.

But you're right. It'll have two mags of pricey ammo I hope to never have to fire as an EDC. But I need more range time to become as familiar with it as I am my SD
