New Vs. Old S&W.

I confess to not having a lot of experience shooting the newer guns, but I don't care much for the appearance of some of the newer revolvers. Also the two-piece barrels and other production shortcuts sure aren't improvements. However, they are still the best double actions revolvers currently being produced, so they are far ahead of the competition!

I've handled, but not shot the new ones and I don't think they compare with my "5 screw" mdl 10. The action is as smooth as silk and has never been fiddled with. I've had it for 40+ years and it's never failed me. It was my duty weapon for 11 years as a detective with a 3 in barrel. Even with the shorter barrel, I qualified as a Distinguished Expert every month.
