I came up with a new black holster with the single retaining strap, fully leather lined. All the markings that the holster has are on the back, the S&W logo and to the right are the letters AFT in large letters, no numbers what so ever. My S&W Model 65 4 inch is a perfect fit. Any info as to maker, possible year made etc would be appreciated.

I can not address the year of manufacture, but the holster itself is a S&W manufactured holster... S&W used to have its own line of leather. It is now Gould & Goodrich.
I have a suitcase (literally) of this stuff that my dad brought home from the department when he retired as an officer in 1988. All for 4 inch K Frames. Drop pouches, Mace holders, cuff cases, etc.
