Total newbie here that is looking to getting into shooting as a new hobby. I ended up purchasing a MP .40 for my first pistol but wish I had someone that I knew that I could try out various other pistols to find the "right" one for me. I have shot about 100 rounds through it and realized that I should have probably purchased something with cheaper ammo to practice with. Oh well live and learn. I am looking to get a 9mm barrel for it or even get a .22 to be able to get more practice in and keep some cash in my pocket.

Now if I could only find ammo in the RI area for the .40 things would be much better.:D

Welcome from Texas Pat RI. Great forum, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Welcome to the S&W forum from Tenn. I think getting
a 22LR pistol to practice with is a great idea. I have quite
a few pistols and six are 22LR. When I go to the range a
22 goes every time. Don

I am having trouble finding a Ruger Mark III in Rhode Island I went to a bunch of places in the last few days and one place had the 22/45 but I do not want that model. The Ruger dealers said they are on back order and don't know when they will receive them. What a beat. I was looking at the S&W .22 but it doesn't really get a good review for target shooting and that is what I will be using the .22lr for.

Thanks to all for the welcome.:)
