I like to call Illinois: CCCPI
The Soyuz (Daley) Sovietskaya (Madigan) Socialischtik (Emanuel) Respublik of Illinois.
I'm not bragging when I say we have the worst gun rights of any state. It is just the sad, cold truth.
I am big fan of John Lott and his work "More Guns, Less Crime." I would like to see Illinois get CCW permits - "shall Issue" not may issue where they will basically be a "May not isssue" interference with our God-given right to self defense. The Second Amendment merely tried to encapsulate the essence of God's Law of Self Defense and Self Preservation in a human form format. The right exists in Nature, before any civilization is even contemplated by man. And only man can take that right away from other men. (If we let them).
So I guess you could say I am interested in the right to "Bear Arms" which is totally forbidden in CCCPI, under penalty of a Felony Conviction. In CCPI you have to carry your weapon unloaded, and in a case or container. So please wait Mr. Criminal, let me open my case and then load my weapon, no really, just give me a second here now; OK now, what did you want me to do? Too Bad, sooo sad. The good guy dies at the hands of bloodthirsty criminals. What an upside down world.
I like to reload as well. I have been doing it since I was 10 years old. Back then I loaded shot for my dad and there was no "automation" back in 73'. I was the "automation" and I could load about 100 rounds an hour I think. More recently since I've gotten back into shooting I have been loading 30-06, 9mm, 38 Sp., 40 S&W and 45ACP with great results. I double weigh everything due to a healthy fear of getting careless and blowing myself up. I listen to the hockey game, or football game or baseball game and sit down in my basement and reload.
I'm not a very good shooter, yet. But I plan on changing that by really knuckling down and get some pointers and practice, practice, practice.
Gotta run for now. looking forward to getting to know ya'll and sharing ideas, stories and positions.
