Hello All,
I am a complete newbie to S&W collecting although I have loved and enjoyed these handguns for many years. I also collect vintage rimfire rifles so some of you may recognise my screen name from rimfirecentral.com.
I only have two S&W handguns at this time, one of which I purchase today at a local gun show. They are both model 10's in 38 special.
The first one is a 1963(?) model 10-5 with a 4" thin barrel. It's in great shape but has a little thinng of the blue in spots. It's also a fabulous shooter...one of may favorite handguns for sure for simple shooting pleasure.
The one I bought today is a real gem (I think). It is a model 10-6 made in 1976 with a heavy barrel. This gun is in the original box with cleaning kit and all paperwork and paper wrapper. It is 100% mint and in completely unfired condition. It looks like the day it was made. I traded a gun for it that I had about $350.00 in and I am pretty happy to have it. Did I get a good deal on this gun?
I look forward to many informative discussions with the good folks here.
