Hey Gents,

I just picked up my new shield (9mm) :D . And I am looking at bulk buying some ammo. I also started thinking about reloading. I know there are some threads on here, but I wanted to start a fresh one because some of the links I found are old. ... So, can y'all recommend some places to find great deals on plinkin' ammo and great prices on decent reload materials?

Thanks chaps

If you decide to take on the deliciously sweet madness that is reloading, you will be spending several hundred (if not thousands - seriously) of dollars on equipment, supplies and manuals.
Your first and most important purchase should be this one:
The ABCs Of Reloading: The Definitive Guide for Novice to Expert: Rodney James: 9781440213960: Amazon.com: Books

Then drop one forum down:
Reloading

And you'll meet some of the most intelligent and helpful folks I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with!

You might look at used (and new) reloading tools and accessories on eBay. I buy about all of my needs there. You can find lots of used stuff there. The internet is full of people selling 9mm ammunition. Gun shows (if they continue to exist) are good places to find deals on ammunition. Even Wal-Mart and places like Academy have 9mm on sale occasionally. For plinking use, just go with the cheapest FMJ you can find. Tulammo, S&B, Prvi, etc. are plenty good enough. For reloading, use lead bullets. If you want to buy some, Google for Missouri Bullets - reasonably priced and good.
