Got my first S&W about 3 months ago-CSX. Loved it’s looks, feel, size. Shot great with zero malfunctions. Could not hit the broadside of the barn inside the barn. Worked on everything particularly trigger control-a little improvement but not enough to consider as my EDC. So yesterday I traded it on a Ruger MAX 9. Will probably shoot when we warm a little.
A month ago I bought an Equalizer. WOW! I love everything about it. I never miss the broadside of the barn. Then a big oops-slide stopped returning after every shot. I could hand recycle but no auto. So it’s at the S&W hospital. That all folks.

Welcome aboard from coastal North Carolina.

You present yourself as a one-man wrecking crew to plastic pistols. Maybe, a 1911 or Gen3 Smith could get you on the right path...LOL

Seriously, if you want to improve your shooting skills, then take some time to read the articles and range work at pistol-training dot com.;)

Welcome to the madness.

RE: shooting skills. They are acquired and perishable. It takes time and a bit of effort (and unfortunately money) to move from mediocre to reasonably skilled. Don't forget to learn about routine maintenance while you are at it.

Enjoy.

sounds like it needs cleaning - did you clean it before shooting it first time?

Welcome to the Forum!

I do not own and have never shot a CSX so I can't personally comment on it but from here it sounds like a few shooting lessons from "an old timer" might be in order. Some pistols are inherently more accurate than others, some are easier to shoot, but almost all will group relatively well. I have seen certain shooter/pistol combinations that just don't fit and it is obviously essential for your pistol to be a good fit for you.

I wish you better luck with the Equalizer.
