Here is my newest addition to the SW revolver family. A totally impractical pistol but Ive always wanted one and when I saw this one I knew it was the one.

.500 Magnum Performance Center Hunter 7.5"

Pick it up in a week.

That is a beauty. I have a number of S&W revolvers that many would say are impractical. I haven't yet parted with the cash for an X frame but know it will happen. I would have to handload some 500 'very lights'--that is--about two grains short of cowboy action loads. But still, what a hole they would make!

Aww, impractical for CCW and vastly too loud for home defense with any serious loads, not that those would be required.

Great guns, far more accurate than 99% of shooters can exploit.

As long as you handload, tons of fun and not too expensive. Enjoy! Don

Congrats! They are a thing of beauty for sure. It would certainly be very practical for hunting many types of game. I'll be using my .460 in less than a week for whitetail hunting.

I own a John Ross custom 500 and I find it very practical, for my purposes, anyway.

Very nice - I am in the same boat as others, not practical for my use (don't hunt anymore) but for some reason I keep getting drawn into the model 500's. I may just pull the trigger.

I guess I'm an old member of this club ever since I tried .22WRMs, many moons back and then when older, I bought a model 19 4" to confirm my affliction. Certain calibers don't seem to bother me at all, while few just hurt like H***! I've never shot my 500 without ear protection.
