Hello,

I've just joined this forum, hoping to find a cure for this affliction I've developed recently.

I was content with my Ol' Sig 226 in .40cal for as long as I can recall with all my attention going to long guns since, in my mind, there wasn't any thing to compete with the Sig. Occasionally, I might take a dismissive peek at what was under the glass at my LGS but always declining to handle any of them since....well, they weren't my 226.

One day, I inadvertantly gazed at a 4506 and all hope and reason was lost from that point on.

Now I have 2 4506-1s, a 4566 and two 5906's... and a deal pending on a 4006.

(Guess I came to the right place, eh ?)

Best regards,
SigBoone

My one possible justification is that I have two sons and so I always try to duplicate any additions to the collection and maintain some parity so that one day....when they're fighting over my stuff....at least there will be no issue when it comes to the guns.

(Of course....the boys are only 6 and 1&1/2 years old.)

I hear ya. I didn't think I'd ever find anything that could hold a candle to my West German production P220. Well, the 4566 certainly does and then some. Welcome aboard!

Welcome aboard! You're well on your way to full-blown Third Gen-it is with the rest of us here on this thread.

Before long -- and maybe already -- as far as your pistols go, you'll realize that your "Sig" has become just a "Sig-nificant other" compared to your S&W autos! :D

Thanks for the welcome.

Shoo2tr, my p226 is also older and West German made and sans rail.

Vigil, yea...the last two trips to the range the Sig stayed in the kennel but I'm looking forward to shooting it again soon--sort of a reality check to compare to this new obsession with the 3rd gens.

Interestingly, I had repeated FTEs with both 5906's and with several different mags. It was more than disappointing, having had no issues with any of the 45xx's that day nor the previous trip to the range. It was WWB, had one box of federal in my bag and shot through it without any issues. At home, I googled the issue and found a thread from this site describing the same phenomenon with WWB...so I joined.

Total conundrum: My 4506-1 vs my SIG P220st (sport frame). Of course, the 4506 has never failed. Neither has the SIG. ;-)

I started off with a 6906, then a 4006, And after that it gets kind of blurry...I started in on the TSW's, & the latest, A Shorty Forty. 3rd Genitis is real, I tell you what!

For shame.
Otherwise, welcome to the forum!
