Nice 686 found. Good price for one?

If you think that $550 used is too high, find a new, current production M686 to appreciate REAL sticker shock.

You're just confused, used guns are cheaper, not less expensive. :D :D

$900 easy in California. I have one from the early 90's and I love the heck out of that bad boy.... Finest all around gun I own.

I just found a 686 no dash for $500 at my local shop here near Sacramento. Couldn't believe it and it was in great condition. Still waiting my 10 days to pick it up. Cheapest 686 I saw locally a guy had was going for $675.
Went back to that shop for the 66-2 2.5 inch today at $600 (also like new). California prices are pretty bad, but those I couldn't pass on.

Scored my 686+ dash 5 (no lock) at the gun show for $300 a couple of years ago. That and my 6" Mod 29-2 with wood box and tools for $400 are my all time best gun show deals...

18-months ago I paid $600. OTD for a 4" Dash 4 in super-great cond.
I had been searching for a 4" for quite some time, so when the Dash 4 came along I gladly paid the bucks and haven't looked back.

This is the going rate for a 686. Sure, you might find one for 400...but you'd have to get real lucky and it might take forever.

I have picked up 2 686 6" in excellent condition this year, one has rubber grips and one wood grips. They were $500 each but asking prices are hitting $600 in last few months..$550 for one in excellent condition with wood grips is about right.
