I am pleased to share with you all that today was a rather successful day at the range. I grabbed 5 different boxes of ammo today to test the rifle out again after first range visit and what a difference with just a very thorough cleaning and running the bolt REALLY WET!
There is however one thing I discovered today...the magazine that comes with the rifle, the M&P marked ASC magazine...it's HORRIBLE! I popped off 50 rounds from PMAG's without one FTE, FTF or FTL. As soon as I put in the ASC mag...it wouldn't even load. So I took it out, tried again with one less round in it and same things. Straight to the range bag it went.
After that, all was flawless. Here is a list of the different ammo I used.
American Eagle 308 Win 150 grain
Winchester white box 308 145 grain
PMC Bronze 308 Win (7.62NATO) 147 grain
PPU 308 Win 150 grain
Federal Prem. Sierra Match King Gold Medal 308 Win 168 grain
The rifle ate everything and spit it out with no problems. Here are a few photos. All 100 yards. Second photo is the Federal Premium 168 and the last photo is the PMC Bronze 147. I was pretty happy. Not the best shooting but I'll take it.
