I couldn't let this one get by me. All matching (except the grips) and still in the original .455 caliber. The only military marks are the " Crown over 30" and the double broad arrow. I'm kind of curious how many left military service and didn't get the British proofs for resale. Also, I noticed what must an importers mark on the frame under the grip. Has anyone seen that before? Maybe a sporting shop in Glasgow, MT imported the revolver?

That is almost certainly a stamp from Leroy's Big Valley Gun Works in Glasgow MT. I think we've seen this here before.

I'm not sure whether it was an official import mark or just a trade stamp.

I also have an unmolested .455 Mark II Hand Ejector 2nd Model. The only British marking on mine is the Crown proof on the base of the grip frame. Mine is serial number: 30825.

Congrats on a nice score.

I can see it now - Leroy's Big Valley Gun Works gets in a "bunch" of revolvers and removes the stocks to stamp the frames and then doesn't bother to match the stocks to the original gun.
