I recently purchased this 3" Model 19 at a local gun show. It had a factory letter confirming the barrel length, nickel finish and the configuration of RR, WO, TH, TT and walnut checkered grips. My only other 19 is a K-Comp, but I'm quickly becoming a fan.

WOW,A 3" Model 19 in NICKEL! That is the only one I have ever seen,Love the Blued front sight and the diamond Magna's.When and where did the Gun ship to?

The gun shipped 9/1/67 to the George Cake Company in Berkley, Ca. The George Cake Company supplied a lot of the PDs in Northern California.

What beautiful Combat Magnum !

Some neat things kinda stand out,
First is although 2.5" RB Model 19 snubs were cataloged by 1967 they do not step down to the barrel because the snub FS ramp contacts the frame,
Since the 3" barrel is slightly longer they had to finish a RB frame with the SB frame "Step".

Also interesting is the diamond Magnas do they serial to the gun ?
IIRC 2.5" RB Model 19-2's shipped after 1966 usually had non diamond Magna grips .

As with anything S&W ... anything is possible with S&W.

Especially Love the blued ramp and "Proud" FS pins on nickel 19's made prior to 1970.

Sweet

Engine49guy,
The grips do number to the gun. The serial number is K6232XX.

Thanks - Mike
