Nickel 2” Bicycle Gun

That is a beauty! Especially with the factory pearls. Does it have the printing on the right side of the barrel?
If you enlarge the photograph of the right side you can see that it does.

No accompanying letter when I bought it two weeks ago. Do you think that it is letter worthy?

You might find this interesting:

Pittsfield, Massachusetts is about 50 miles from Springfield, Massachusetts.

This one sold for $687.50. I bought one recently that cost me $747.50 at auction. Similar to yours, but rubber stocks. SCSW and RIA values these highly/auctions these for good money, but, anywhere else, they still aren’t worth much.
That auction was 2 years ago. Seems like a great price. Some have gone 2k plus at Rock Island. Worth a search.
Thanks for the info!

That is my serial number. I wonder if the OGCA member who had it on his table was the buyer in 2023.

Sorry, but what is a Bicycle Gun?
Mine is one of the many S&W Safety Hammerless .32 top break New Departure revolvers. The short 2” barrel version is also known as a bicycle gun. I heard that dogs chased bikes and that bike riders would shoot at the dogs (hopefully just to scare them away).

My great uncle collected Safety Hammerless (he called them lemon squeezers) revolvers for years, We were at his truck stop quite a few years ago, he opened a large safe with dozens of very old S&W boxes, Sam said “let me show you some special Smiths”. I had no idea at the time how rare they were, he even had a couple with wire stocks. I have no idea what became of them after he passed away.
