As I posted last week I have been lurking on the side lines since 2007. I have spent many hours on this wonderful forum soaking in the vast S&W knowledge available from those who are so willing to share.
I purchased this 29-2 back in 2010. I pass several pawn shops on the way home everyday. I try not to stop too often, but one day I did have some gun money saved up in my pocket. After looking through the counters I didn't see anything tempting and on the way out the salesman ask what I was looking for.
I told him I was looking for older S&W revolvers. He said he had something in the back I might be interested in.
He brought out a very dirty and some what cloudy 6.5 in. nickle 44 magnum and he said make him an offer.
Nickle N frames don't exactly fit in my blue K frame and a few J frame collection.
I offered $500.00 and he said Ok, I said OTD and said Ok again, so I took it home.
The first picture is when I brought it home, I don't remember it looking this bad, but with some Flitz and Renaissance wax and then I refinished the grips, it looks pretty good.
According to the factory letter N145752 shipped to Hunt & Whitaker Co. Jackson MS. on November 19, 1974.
