Night sight for a 340pd

Howdy,

I recently picked up a 340pd to replace a 340sc I had and a 43c to plink with. I am looking to change out the red ramp on the 340pd. I am wondering what the options are? I want to make sure it fills the whole channel, I know some might be shorter.

I put xs big dots on mine. No complaints

I just picked up a 360J with green fiber optic.

But a few years ago I had an LCR with the XS Big Dot, and I'll probably go back to that for the 360.

I was thinking of going with he big dot. I was looking at the green with white rim. The ring around the tritium is painted on the xs correct? I am also considering metrolight tru dot.
 
No disrespect buy why? I consider my 340 to be used at elevator distances. I practice at distances at 30' and less. Pretty much point shooting. Mine has a red ramp and I find it perfectly adequate. The ramp also prevents any hangup on drawing.

I changed my fiber optic out because I wanted a night sight. I also find the big dot much faster to aquire than the FO.
At times my 340pd is the only firearm I am carrying. I don't live, work or frequent elevators. I need something I can use at any self defense distance.

Fair point about really needing a night sight. I know there are pocket guns out there without any sights. Odds are if someone has to use a gun they aren't going to need any sights. However I want to keep the same sight picture the same as the 43c. I guess I could just get a white dot but I figured since I am going through the trouble I might as well go with a night sight.

I also agree that the dot is faster to acquire vs the red ramp when comparing the 340pd and 43c.
 
Xs makes a big dot and a regular dot. Also with and without tritium.

Thank you I am going to stick with tritium. Now I am just between the big and the standard. By any chance does anyone have comparison pictures?

I made a decision to go with the green standard dot. From what I gather the stand dot is what smith and wesson puts on the 43c and m&p 340. Also I read that the standard dot is the same size as the old big dot that was sold by Ashley, I have them on my pm9.
