I have one of my fellow deputie's Smiths that needs a set of night sights. It's a "1911 PC" which has the long adjustable rear "target" sight. Can anyone steer me to a part number for a meprolight, trijicon, PT or whatever, that has the correct set up. I don't seem to be able to find one anywhere.

THANKS in advance!!!

It's the 1911 style gun with a regular dovetailed front style and a longer "plate" type rr sight that sits in a machined out top section of the rr slide and is adjustable. It's maybe 1 1/4" long and as wide as the slide...........???

Does that help?

Is it the same as the standerd SW1911?

I'd assume it will work, but can't guarantee it without seeing it.

Gotcha, I know it's a 1911 Smith and the model # is 1911PC. At least it's a lead and I'll have to bring the gun in by the computer with a set of calipers and do some calculating I reckon. Thanks man! Ahhh, Glocks, SIGS, HKs and reg 1911's have been SO easy.............. :-)

There are even fixed sight replacement systems being offered now. But my personal favorite is the XS sight systems big dot replacement sights. I would pick up the latest brownell's or midway usa catalog and give them a call. The brownell's tech staff is amazingly helpful and can point you in the right direction and let you know what size the dovetails are and what tools you're going to need to install them. Hope this helps and good luck with your buddy's pistol and let us know how it turns out.

I have the pistol here in front of me.....sweet trigger for a stock gun. anyway, the front sight is a typical .375 dovetail but the rear sight, a Wilson Combat ajustable doesn't even appear to HAVE a dovetail. Just a huge screw centered in the body portion. Sound familiar?? It sits in a double depth milled out flat portion but no visable dovetail???
