Looking to purchase a good night sight for the M&P 45, I am 70 yrs old and looking toward a larger front sight and something easier to pick up.

I've had a few guns with night sights, and I've yet to find a set I like more than the Truglo TFO.

They're a combination sight with tritium vials behind fiber optic rods. The FO rods are fantastic in regular light, and the tritium makes up the difference in low/no light conditions.

They go for around $90 at Brownells or on Amazon.com : Truglo Tfo Handgun Sight Set - S&W M&P - Ylw Rs, Green/Yellow : Archery Sights : Sports & Outdoors@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31O8zDht%2BmL.@@AMEPARAM@@31O8zDht%2BmL. They're available in green front/green back, or green front/yellow back (which I prefer for contrast)

Though if you're looking for a bigger front sight, the XS Big Dot is a great system, too. It has a huge front sight with tritium that is aligned over a rear vertical stripe for quick alignment. They go for closer to $80 at Brownells.

I'll second the xs big dot if you want a big front sight. Very fast on target with these...

My eyes are not what they used to be as well. Look at the Trijicon HD night sights with the luminescent orange front sight. The easiest to acquire that I have ever used.

+1 (my front is yellow, but yeah)

Does anyone know if Truglo Makes a set of TFO"S for a Shield? I don't mean that it will work but hang off the end or something but are made specifically for the Shield? Their site wasn't clear.

After a little reading it looks like TRUGLO redesigned them last year to fit both the regular M&P and the shield without overhang.
