ok i was wondering if i should upgrade my old sw model 49 hammerless to a night guard 45.acp cal revolver as a back up to the 1911 i carrie for many years in on and off duty carry when in partol and plains cloths work ..now i ride a desk for the dept doing the little things that keep the dept running as it need ..

one of my girls wants to trade me across the board for my old on duty backup pistol i carried for years for a nightguard revolver along a small of the back typle kydex holster set up with a couple of moon clips also ..

i told her that she could take the back up and use it if she need ..she likes the old model hammerless revolver for coat pocket carry when she on duty ..she got the idea from me when i was on the street and i would come home and she would ask me why i did that ..for i told her i was faster then haveing to draw a weapon and fire it though the coat at short conract range if need be also if had to you could walk with hand wraped around the revolver butt when working outside and have to walk in or around someone that you wanted not to spook if they things that something was about to go down on them ..

now she wants to trade me for it across the board ..
i told that the pistol is not worth want you going to pay for a new one ..but she a little hard head get that from her mom side of the Irish side of the family not my side of the family i say..:D

Folks seem to like the Nightguard from what I've read. Carry often; shoot darned little.
I have a 325PD which is an "upgrade" in that it had a titanium cylinder instead of steel, but equal in strength. It is light. But full-power 230gr loads take the skin off the web of my hand after 15 shots. Good to know.
The moonclips work well and are quick reload, and for LEO may be a good thing. Could shoot this gun with 180-200 gr loads at 900 fps and still do a nice job.
I'm going to sell mine soon...15 shots total out of this gun...and I am looking for a 625 Mountain gun in .45 colt. Nice balance of weight and power.

I am familar with both the revolvers you are talking about.

IMHO nothing can replace a 5 shot Bodyguard for front pocket carry.

The 325 NG is a great concealed carry gun, but it is a little big for front pocket carry.

I would NEVER carry a 5 shot Bodyguard as a Primary, but I carry one 100% of the time as a BUG. Been doing so since 1976, except for the years I had to carry a Glock 17, then I carried 2 of them.

Now that I am Retired the Bodyguard is back in service as a BUG.

I would and have, carried the 325 NG as a Primary on short trips to town [I live in the country].

I would buy her a new Bodyguard for the 325 NG, so I could keep my Bodyguard.
