I had placed an older set of Spegel grips on the 19 Classic I bought not too long ago. They were much better than the factory grips, but more suited to double-action firing, for my fairly large hands. For over three decades, custom Herrett's Jordan Troopers have been my go-to design. However the last couple I've bought have been a little sharper at the front ellipse than older models. Not bad, but not as good, to me. I think I remember member Joni_Lynn posting a few years ago they had a new stockmaker. I had been interested in trying Nill grips, and ordered a pair. They're well made, fit and feel great. First time I remember having to read the instructions to take a pair of grips apart though.
I couldn't get their German website to take my money, had to use a USA distributor to order them, took about a month.
I usually don't like finger grooves, but I do like a cut/wood shape that directs my middle finger away from the trigger guard during recoil. I can't be sure from looking at an online catalog, but the shape of that area on the finger grooved grips appeared to suit me better, and since I was taking a leap in ordering these anyway, I decided to make it a long jump.
Sorry for the poor lighting:
From the rear they have sort of a Coke-bottle shape (where have I heard that before?).
The Spegels, now back in their sock with the rest of the wood retirees.
