Alamogordo Police Officer, 33 year old Clint Corvinus, was gunned down Friday by a tattooed face felon. Shooting followe a routine traffic stop. The felon was a 38 year old Joseph Moreno, who has three active warrants, a face full of jailhouse tattoos and a long history of criminal activity.
The perp was killed by officers after a foot chase.
The officer left behind a girlfriend and an 8 year old daughter. This follows the recent murder of a Hatch Police Officer.
This hasn't made the nat'l news that I've seen. Its apparently becoming a combat zone out there or at least more so.

Not sure if they aired this in El Paso -
After the incident, some of the scumbag's friends and family threatened the Alamogordo Police.
Some other nearby departments came in to reinforce.

The local rednecks ( and I mean that in a nice way since I are one) won't take threats from dirtbags lightly.

Losing one of our men in blue over a lowlife like that guy. Even if they killed the guy that doesn't bring the officer back to his girlffiend, family and friends.

Im glad the repeat offender is deceased-a bit of justice for the officer it murdered. Also, saves a boat-load of taxparyers money no, trila, no prison-nada--just a final trip to potters-mill or-Boot Hill, if you will?

It was on the San Antonio local TV news. BG was attempting to flee in a Motor Home RV. Not exactly the best vehicle for that purpose.

Hearing this brings back a lot of memories. Alamo and Otero/Lincoln counties were my duty station back in the 70's. Have very good memories from that time, as well as some not so good. There is no place that I know of today that could not be called the "mean streets". This is NOT good news, despite the acceptable (to me) outcome with the shooter. My thoughts and prayers are with this man's family as well as all those who go in harm's way on our behalf.

As I understand it from a local LE source, this was a vehicle stop on a suspicious vehicle, not a traffic stop. RIP, Officer.

You are 100% correct, and no one here is looking at it in that light. But I'm not alone in feeling a lot better about the perp getting his in the end, rather than going to jail to be hailed as a hero for being a cop killer.

My own prehistoric believe is there shouldn't be any cop killers in jail, and I'll leave it at that.

You arent the only one starting to believe that way. I am too. Its more im getting VERY fed -up with punks not behaving. I saw an incident yesterday involving two-and one this morning involving another two.
