"No Country For Old Men"

It's a great movie where the terrain of Texas is one of the stars of the film. There's lots of scenes with no dialogue, but you know what they're thinking by their faces. And I especially like that the bad guy had pretty much the same goofy haircut I had in 1971.

I love all, or most all, of the Coen Bros. movies and loved this one too. I watched the movie and then read the book hoping it would clear some things up but it didn't. A Hollywood miracle perhaps but the movie's dialogue and screenplay was word for word from the book with little change.

I enjoyed the movie. For those who read the book- does it end the same way?

The movie leaves the question of Carla's fate somewhat up in the air. Does Chigurh have a change of heart??? You're allowed to make a guess. However, the book leaves no doubt.

The movie script is pretty much lifted straight from the book, including a lot of the dialogue.

However, Cormac McCarthy also wrote the screenplay for "The Counselor". The script was very disjointed, and I don't think it's one of the Coens' or McCarthy's better efforts (McCarthy's first straight screenplay). It had a great cast, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, among others. Confusing, muddled, are just some of the adjectives I'd use.

I saw lots of previews and thought it would be a serious gritty movie
well worth watching. But when I finally got to see it, on tv, I was
sorely disappointed. Cars blowing up in the street, the bad guy lugging
his tank around. Has to be one of the silliest excuses for a good movie
that I have seen in a long time.
