I have had a wanted to buy post for a Non Model marked 4 screw Pre 27 for several years now. Since I can't find one to buy can I at least see a few of then if they do exist. I guess all the frames were being used to make 44 Magnums.

While I can't display a "pre" 27 for you, all I can contribute is a circa 1959 "27".
Four- screw 5" w/ Cokes. I just missed a 3.5" of same vintage a couple of months later, so my quest continues also,,,;)

IIRC, the 5th screw was deleted in '56 and Model-marked began in '57. With the available calibers in "N" frame, I would think the "pre-27" number might be relatively small. Most of the Pre-27's I have found were 5-screw.

I was about to post a photo of a 5-screw 357 Magnum then re-read the OP. I have a 4-screw 44 Magnum but don't think I have seen a 4-screw 357.

Did a 357 or Model 27 ever come with “Coke” grips?

Don’t worry, when I get one I’ll share so you can see ;)

Actually I thought I found one in 8 3/8, pics showing the yoke and all. After studying the photos I realized there were two guns in the set. It was a mistake after I called and asked…

Interesting note: The above 4-screw pre-27 is one of three known Rentzschke engraved pinto 357s shipped to Oshmans in 1959. In the photos below, the top one (5-screw pre-27 with SN S150790 shipped April 23, 1959), the middle one (SN S186811 is a 4-screw, model marked 27, that shipped on November 15, 1959) and on the bottom one is the 4-screw non model marked pre-27 (SN S186815, shipped July 22, 1959). For a comparison of the differences and similarities - here are the high res photos posted next to each other in SN order.

Kind of fun to compare and contrast.
