Hello All! I am brand new to the site and the gun world. Just picked up my 1st ever gun yesterday which is an SD40VE. Saw it in a pawn shop last week for $339 and was wondering why a S&W was so cheap. Is that the normal rate for a used gun? Turns out it was new. Did it need to be repaired? I just didn't know and I left because I had to be somewhere. When I was backing out I said to myself, "I think Im gonna regret that". So I went home and started researching it. Watched a bunch of videos on Youtube and read reviews from different forums and everybody had nothing but good things to say about the gun, especially for the price. So the next day I decided that I will get it. I was near another gun shop so I stopped in to see if they had it for the same price. But, of course, they didn't have it at all. They had the 9mm but not the .40 which I wanted. So I sat in my car and started calling pawn shops. I called and called and noone had it. I ended up calling about 35-40 different shops! Everybody was out. A few had the 9mm but not the .40. So I just waited until Monday because a few of them said that they would be getting a shipment of different guns in soon so check back. After a few days of checking back and calling new places I FINALLY found it! I had to drive an hour away to get it but victory was mine! It is brand new, too. Haven't had a chance to shoot yet but will definitely try to get to the range this weekend. I will report back on the experience. Can't wait!

Gun prices vary across the country. I recently paid $299 for my SD9VE, at Academy Sports, but now they are advertising them for $329...if they had any, which they don't. I've seen them for $349 to $379 in various gun shops.
The price you paid may not be the least, but isn't the most either. Since you couldn't find it anywhere else, it is evidently the right price, or you wouldn't have one!

I paid 399 for mine, at a local gun shop, but it is a local small buisness so I was ok with it
