A guy at work mentioned he picked up a Remington 788 in 222 for groundhogs. I said I thought I still had a box of 222 ammo and he could have it if he wanted it. I found the box, Norma wood grained cardboard, but what caught my eye was the price, $9.95. I'm sure I thought that was an outrageous price when I bought the stuff but I can't remember when that was. Any ideas how old this ammo might be?

Back in '73, '74, and '75, Norma in the woodgrain box was sold in the American Rod and Gun clubs throughout West Germany. I think that was about the only brand they sold. It was a lot cheaper then as was everything. I bought a S&W Mod 29, 8 and 3/8" barrel at the Wiesbaden R&G club. Paid 217.00 for it in the presentation case.

I bought three woodgrained boxes of Norma cases around the time that longrangedog mentions. Don't know how long they kept that design. Quite a while, I think, but I don't really know.
