I bought 200 rds of 44mag. One box of 20 is Norma 44 mag carbine ammo. At 250 gr at 1700. Sounds hot. Can these be shot in a revolver?

You can fact check me since I’m going from memory. I think this ammo uses slower burning powder to take advantage of the longer carbine barrel, not that the pressures are any higher. Therefore, you can shoot it in a revolver, but you won’t see any velocity advantage over any other ammo. The published velocity is also from a carbine, so expect way less velocity in a revolver.

Norma is known for maximum velocity, maximum pressure ammo. I might shy from shooting it in an older S&W Model 29/629, but should be ok in the ones with the durability package (29-5/629-3 or later).
