...like a S&W .357. Picked up my Valentine's Day gift today, a Model 581. (Nice to have a wife who simply smiles and says "Sure...go ahead.")

Appears to have been shot very little. This will be my woods/truck/house gun. I know some S&W fans are dismissive of this model's looks, but boy I like it. Feels good in my hand and will do everything I need it to.

Any love out there for the 581?

I've always liked the blue L-frames (I have two 586's).....that's a beauty and the 581's are harder to find. Thanks for sharing the pic............shoot it and enjoy an uncommon L-frame. :)

Thanks...

Eager to get out and shoot it--as are my three sons!

The looks of the 581/586/686 are what set them apart from other S&Ws.
This 586 no dash has the lightest, smoothest trigger of any Smith I own.

Let us know how it shoots!
By the way - it is very unusual to find any 581, especially one in such good shape; the few I've seen have quite a bit of holster wear.

581

It is great that you got one! I've got a 581 no dash and a 681 no dash. The 581 is just a nicer gun!

Congratulations!

What's not to like about a 581??? They are beautiful guns - and yours is no exception. Enjoy!
