Every day I log in here I see another state where the Dems have introduced new gun legislation........it seems to be a rising trend across every state a little at a time..... seems like the 2nd amendment is under attack across the nation and they do it a little at a time........

Unfortunately there are Liberal across the whole country so the possibilities of introducing new anti-Gun bills in many states are huge but remember that there are GOP members and some moderate Dems across the whole country too, those bills will only have the chance to pass in states where Liberals are majority.

They tried in Illinois back in January and it had no support to not even reach the floor for a vote.

Which is real surprising how Chicago seems run our whole state host and they're gun grabbers up there

Although this could just be a case of monkey see-monkey do, I suspect we are seeing something new here. I think that we are seeing a more sophisticated and high dollar effort at gun control by Bloomberg and his Mayors Against Guns outfit, through their lobbying arm the Raben Group. They are using lobbyists in each of the states they are choosing as battlegrounds.

These guys are devious, sophisticated and well-funded and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. For example, they have recently created a new arm of their movement, called protectpolice.org which has its own website and is dedicated to removing restrictions on local law enforcement access to BATFE databases.

They have had their finger in just about every aspect of gun control and CCW legislation across the country and one of their goals is to destroy the NRA's influence on legislators.

In my opinion this is a very dangerous group that poses a danger to our political system and our rights. They are all the more dangerous because of their benign name (I mean who supports ILLEGAL guns, and who opposes a bunch of well-meaning mayors?). You need to keep a close eye on these guys. This group is very active in state and federal lobbying, advertising, web presence and so on, and who knows how extreme their ultimate goals are.

You are correct that it didn't get to the floor, but don't count on anti gun efforts being over in Illinois. I'm sure they'll try to pass something else. Thankfully, we have the Illinois State Rifle Association working for us as well as many citizens committed to the preservation of the Second Amendment. If you are in Illinois and are not a member of ISRA, please consider joining.

I agree with 10ring. In fact I was discussing this with some co-workers today. I just finished reading the new Glock book and it gave some limited backroom inside politics discussions that go one with politicians and gun companies. I suspect that we are seeing an out right grass roots agenda to dilute, bankrupt, impinge and fray the core of gun ownership. The saying 'how do you eat an elephant?' well it's one bite at a time and that is what is happening. The peripheral agendas from the left is just as bad...'American people will hear it from legitimate news organizations'. The anti-events that were pushed in the early 90's will not even hold a shadow to what is and will be taking place over the next four years. How many fronts will pro2A organizations have to fight on? Divide and conquer and it's happening as we talk about it.

For years these liberal politicians have been elected and reelected
until they think they can do anything they want to. We should have stopped reelecting them years ago. Remember when you vote how they have dealt with our 2nd amendment rights .When election time comes they will try to make you think that they are working on a solution for this problem and they will promise us the moon but remember to vote them all out of office.

Pure and simple...it is not about gun-control or the safety of the children. It is about PEOPLE-CONTROL. Period.....

Just wait until after the State of the Union address tonight. Chris Mathews will be wetting down his leg....
