Now an old school ugly N frame contest

Here's another for the collection!

But - but - but - I thought ALL single actions were Colts, ALL lever actions were Winchesters, and ALL double actions were Smith and Wessons?

Ain't they?

:p

Her's one o' mine -

Our official "House Gun" as a matter of fact.

Mid-latter production m1917, which had probably a very decent amount of intact original Blue, till somneone went over it with some fine Tri-m-Ite paper or Scotch-Brite or whatever, trying to get 'scuzz' off. With someone long prior having lopped the Barrel off with a Hacksaw, leaving the Saw Teeth marks on the Muzzle.

I would love to start my project with just such a gun... I would have a gunsmith true and crown the muzzle, action/trigger job, color case harden the ejector rod, hammer, trigger and cylinder latch, mount Big Dot Night sight and Robar refinish in mat black...the perfect 45 acp carry N frame

Geez guys, it is said that we live in a superficial society today and I think some of you are proof of that! If all of these guns were at a gunshow I would be tempted to buy several. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I still think some of you need to go to see your local ophthalmologist or perhaps get yourself a new one!

Here is my submission. I bought this gun online because it had unrelieved smooth presentation stocks. Yes, I bought it for the grips!

Ironically, I put the grips pictured below on it, and sold it. Its ironic because even though I stripped off a great pair of grips that were way wrong for the revolver, I was told that the grips I put on it to sell it were actually Sanderson's although I am not sold that this is true. They looked too crude to be from a quality grip maker to my eye but who am I compared to "Mr. Sanderson" himself aka 410bore from Ohio. ;)

I believe my submission to be truly ugly because even though it is a 44 3rd model, it was poorly refinished at least once AND it has the discolored cylinder. The sideplate looks awful and the MADE IN USA was nearly polished off. I suppose its not the ugliest gun, but IMO its pretty bad.
