Now 'Mannix' is gone......

That bites. That was one I could watch with my Dad.
Dad would try to guess at the beginning at what
point in the episode Mannix would be beaten unconscious.
He also had lousy luck with cars.

RIP Mike Connors.

Pretty soon all we'll have memories and crummy film/video. Seems like every day now. (oops, forgot, I'm in that age group now )

I don't think so. He was born when Chuck was 5 years old.

Connors wasn't his real name either. He was Armenian, I think. Something along those lines.

And that small of the back holster can lead to spinal injuries if you get knocked down.

I did enjoy both, Tightrope and, Mannix. Memory says he used a Colt Detective Special on both. ??

I was flipping channels the other night and locked into a Mannix episode and Neil Diamond was playing in some nightclub. Someone started a fight with Mannix and Neil got upset because of the interruption. Neat old show.

Looked him up on Wiki.

Real name was Krekor Ohanian. First gen. US citizen. Father was Armenian. Krekor was born in CA.

I think he would have been well suited to play Matt Helm. He looked quite a bit like Helm as drawn on the book covers. Certainly would have been better in the role than was Dean Martin.

Yeah, Dean was mostly just playing a drunk.

I remember watching Mannix when we were growing up. Yet another star from my childhood bites the dust. :(

It's difficult, isn't it, watching your childhood/"teenhood" heroes, TV and movie, pass away. It's even more difficult when they leave us in droves... Carpe diem.
