In short, NJ passed a law that in 180 days bans possession of magazines with more than 10 rounds, with no grandfathering. It is my understanding that the NRA (Go Team) is backing a suit by the ANJRPC to have the law declared unconstitutional on any of three grounds. Generally speaking, the three grounds are:

1) Banning High Capacity magazines violates the Right to Keep and Bear Arms under the Second Amendment

2) Allowing retired police (but not the general public) to possess High Capacity Magazines violates Equal Protection

3) Banning High Capacity Magazines with no grandfathering is an unconstitutional taking.
