We just completed the NRA collectors show.
The Judging for the displays was this morning,
David Carrolls Display of Engraved and Fancy Decorated Models
from 1860 thru 1930 won 4 Silver Metals and Best Educational award
for his classification.
Below are the guns That won the Silver Metals.
1. I 1/2 first issue owned by Horace Smith Co- Founder of the S&W company. This is the only known Factory Engraved revolver with a 4 inch barrel. It was engraved by F.W. Martin S&Ws first factory engraver, it also had a gold washed cly and pearl grips.
2. Cased and Engraved Gold plated pair of 2nd Model Schofields that were owned by a Spanish General A.L. Pombo. who lost a arm to a American Rifle Ball during the charge of Teddy Roosevelts Rough
Riders on San Juan Hill on July 1 1898.
3. Consecutive pair of New Model #3 Targets Factory engraved by Gustave Young with Gold Plated Finish and Cased. these Revolvers were presented by the Prince of Wales, King of England to Capt Leon Martin from England the first markman of the World.
4. New Model #3 320 Revolving Rifle, Nimschke Engraved one of six engraved rifles known to exist. this one is cased with rear peep sight and optional globe front sight. This is the finest example known to exist.
David and I would like to thank all the members that stopped by to visit
the display.
We were also able to interview and sign up 5 new members for the S&W
collectors Association.
