NRA instructor question

I retired last year from my LE job and also did agency firearms training for them for several years. None of my LE firearms instructor certifications are good in the civilian world as I'm finding out. Most of the private commercial ranges in my area only recognize the NRA instructor certifications. Where do I start ? Range Safety Officer or jump right in and get the Basic Pistol instructor? Is there any one NRA course that covers multiple instructor certifications ?

Go straight to Basic Pistol Instructor. This meets most of the states', if not all of them, requirements for teaching concealed carry classes. These classes are usually gun safety classes and not "shooting classes."

Give the NRA site a good search or call them. then carry on. Always need good instructors. Good luck
