I have a Model 19-3 shipped in 1976 that came to me with target stocks, the left panel of which has written neatly inside in blue felt tip pen the last three digits of the serial number. I hadn't seen this before, and I admit it certainly could've been done by a previous owner rather than at the factory. Has anyone else encountered this?

Target stocks generally were not numbered to the gun, although I have seen a set from the 1950s that were.
Looks like a previous owner "numbered" your's.
