I received a notice in the mail from a Settlement Administrator for Numrich Gun Parts that my credit card information may have been breached. Just curious if anyone else has heard of this or received one.

This was probably a database compromise. You get free credit monitoring and the firm who filed the suit gets several million dollars.

Had a couple notices like that. At the end of your free time you will get solicitations to continue the monitoring on a paid basis(Of Course)

I get these from different things I'm involved with. Above is right the lawyers always make out super good. You get peanuts after its all over. I normally do not get involved with those class action suits

Thanks, I guess its legit, I was a little Leary it might have been some kind of scam or something.

These days, scammers prefer to use phone, text, and email. Attempting to pull a scam via the US Postal Service costs the scammer money to mail the items and opens them to a federal charge of mail fraud. Fraudsters are not looking to spend money and they don't really want to go to prison.

I got one of those cards too.
I was wondering if I opt to sign on to the settlement, would it impact Numrich, or, if I don't , would it just enrich the lawyers?
I received a settlement from Remington years ago. Tried to return it, but they told me they couldn't accept it, but would donate it to a suitable organization.

I got one, it offers a 50.00 settlement and a 3 year credit monitoring service.

That is dramatically more care/value than I received from the following:

The OPM hack of security clearances
My doctors’ office last month
The leak of my student information (including SSN) from a State University

Good on Numrich.
