In my opinion I was watching local news this morning. This channel does alot of on scene live interviews for business. Today it was Orlando I V therapy.Seemes folks go in to get hooked up to I V they were showing it live. The nurse said they had twelve choices of I V fluids that could pick from menu. Yes a menu. My medical back ground in over 23 years E M T. Has a few questions they didnt adress. Is there a licensed Doctor in house? Or Medical director ?. Do these folks picking from a menu need to be cleared from a Doctor first?. I know my primary Doc would be off the charts on this? Am I the only one seeking a huge problem ? Any one else seeing these things out there?Or is a Orlando Mouse House thing ??

I think I will come down there and start a fortune telling business. My first prognostication is: I see a massive lawsuit in the near future for the IV place.

Indeed been open 3 months . $100.00 to $ 300.00 per vist. Depending on what you pick from menu. The ones thet had hooked up to said yeah they felt great aftwards. The thing with I V fluids is if someone is low on fluids it will give a bounce.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a medical treatment? So.....is someone practicing medicine without a licence?

And why on EARTH would you want someone to inject you with unknown liquids?

I fully agree with the title of the thread.....

What's the name of this place, Jiffy Juice?

I don't know, if you go to a tattoo parlor, they stick needles and put liquids into your body. Don't believe I ever knew a doctor to be required there. Just a thought. How about Botox injections, does that require a doctor?

Tattoo artists do not inject liquids (ink) into your circulatory system via an IV. They also do not use hypodermic needles. They do have to be licensed by the state and are subject to random inspections at the state's discretion. There are no medical personnel on hand, doctors or otherwise, simply because tattooing is not a medical procedure.

Wow - sounds like a good time! I don't know which to select - Orlando IV Therapy or Enemas-Are-Us.;)

Now thats funny . My wife got mad at me for even calling. But shes never been in any medical training. Really when the lead in on the news announced it I thought we where going see a new bar. Sporting I V Polls and naughty nurses lol . But I was shocked. I guess they have caller I D after my call about hour later a Raffeal called me back. He was well spoken and I asked him pretty much same questions. He said pretty much same thing. And was kinda taken a back by me asking if the doctors are orlando based . They are not. Also one new question I asked was what type I V fluids where they using? His reply was saline .Which is normal .I asked them who infuses the said vitams in saline bags. His reply is the staff infuses them on site . He also states they have a facility in Tampa .He says they have 15000 treatments with no issuses. Wow!!!

Although I'm not sure of the need for this, doing an IV isn't a big thing, nor do I see the need for a Doctor to be in house. My daughter has a port that she accesses all the time, and does her own IV antibiotics when needed rather than spend a week in the hospital.

May if they started offering Jack Daniels..... :D

This was inevitable. It is only one step up from Starbucks. IV caffeine will be followed by injecting caffeine directly into your Cerebrospinal fluid in the drive through. Arrive at work wide awake!

Weird, and probably not too helpful.

I was once sent by my company to a weekend with an "executive development" guy. He was one of those feel good motivational guys. One of his deals was self hypnosis. Another - and this one was really weird - he recommended a spa that he supposedly went to once a year for colon cleansing via an enema composed of two and a half gallons of black coffee.

Two and a half gallons . . . holy s...!

I don't know why the thread was even started in the first place.

Why not? Doesn't meet your "standards"?

They even have a web site and some cocktails just for you:D

Orlando IV Lounge - IV Cocktails - View our menu

Heck several Countries have Heroin Bars. Florida was thinking of doing the same as were other states. They supply the drugs and a nice clean sterile environment and a relaxation room for after, No questions asked!

The world is nuts!!

Open a High Colonic boutique next door. They can get a bag of vein juice then come and get a gallon of colon flush pumped in their butts and hopefully vanquish the dumb ideas from their systems!

Who in their right mind wants to voluntarily have a I.V. and pay $$$ for the privilege?

Florida bashing?:D:D:D:D:D

As good a reason as any, I reckon, although I personally wouldn't engage in bashing Florida. Well, except for some of the state's environmental and conservation practices maybe. Or lack of same.
