At the risk of finding a "bear with a sore head" among NYG fans, I just watched some of the last quarter of Dallas/NYG.

At first I thought the Giants were headed for their customary, mid season "wake-up".

I tell you, Eli seems to have a blank, very blank, look in his eyes when faced with a game winning/losing situation. I know, several more Super Bowl rings than I have, but...........

I admire the Manning family,( in the context of big league sports), Archie at Mississippi, and Peyton at U.T. were two favorite players, and while I often "cringed" at the situation Archie was in with the "AINTS, he suvived, and Peyton has garnered just about every record for Q-backs there are.

But, back to young Eli....something about that boy is just not showing up as a GREAT, N F L quarterback to me.
I even look back at his Super Bowls, as,...not pure take control, driven to the win, performances.
Wins indeed, but more bad circumstances of rivals, than expertise by the winner.

Oh well, they all get paid too durn much to play a kids game.

I had a #8 Manning jersey when I was growing up. I think it was one of the interviews before the super bowl last year when the were comparing and talking to both of the brothers. I think Payton is one of the best ever to play the game But they were still bringing up the fact that Eli has 2 super bowl rings and even though Payton holds a lot of records he only has one ring.

Eli is like the "little girl with the curls." When he's good, he's very, very good. And when he's bad...

I have read in the NY papers that he (and the offense) have had difficulty adjusting to the new set-up brought in by the new offensive coordinator. Has not helped to lose Cruz and that the running backs are so often stopped at the line of scrimmage. Also that the Giant secondary, outside of Rolle, seems to miss assignments.

I remember when Fran Tarkenton QB'd for the Giants. He disregarded the coach when he felt the plays were improper and called his own plays, becoming the de facto offensive coach.

Forgot to mention those 2 pass plays in the late 4th quarter when Dallas QB Romo had almost 10 seconds to pass. Absolutely no pressure.

That was a great game to watch! Beckham was outstanding,
and the Cowboy's offensive line did a great job of giving Romo
time to find a receiver. With Christmas coming, I think Romo
should pony up for 18K gold Rolex watches for his boys. :D

I'm no fan of the Giants but the last time I checked football was a team sport.A quarterback is only as good as his line and receivers make him look. The quaterback's stats don't reflect how many passes should've been caught by a receiver.A sack doesn't tell you if it was the lines fault or the quarterback got too ansy looking for a receiver.

All the great quarterbacks had great supporting players around them.

Just my .02¢...

As I recall the score was 21-10 Giants at the half. The Cowboys came out of half time playing very aggressively and the Giants had no answers.

Romo has been heavily criticized over the years, but he seems to be having a good year. Great O line protection for him. He could have put stamp on that football and mailed it.

You just never know about the New York Giants. :(

A baseball fan-atic, I know next to nothing about football. But I guess you can't blitz when the secondary can't cover it's assignments even with a "full staff."

I believe the play everyone was referring to was Dallas was in the red zone and about the score. Giants only rushed 3 keeping 8 in the backfield. Dallas, I believe kept 5 to block those 3. Romo had all the time in the world to wait until a receiver got open.

Whenever a team trying to nurse a lead and go prevent defense, it usually doesn't end well. Prevent only prevents a team from winning.

I've been a NYG fan since my early days in the Marines - LT, Simms, etc. I like Eli but I've always said he's not that good. He's only good when he has great receivers around him that can jump and layout to catch those misplaced throws. Even I can sink a 50 foot putt when the hole is the size of a small swimming pool.
