Anyone going to the Odessa, TX, gun show this coming weekend? I have a bunch of fired brass I'm selling. It came from an old friend who died a short while ago and I hope to make a few bucks for his descendents. It would be nice to find some interesting guns, also.

I lived in Midland (twice) but moved away about 25 years ago. The gun show at the Odessa Colosseum was always a good one back then, and I found some great things there. No idea how good (or bad) it is today. Or even if it is still held in the Colosseum.

I'm afraid that I'll miss it since I'm going to Brownwood this weekend.

Used to go there a time or two a year but it's probably been 10 years since I've been. Gun shows have changed in that time frame, but I always enjoyed the show there. Were usually quite a few good old guns on the tables and lots of folks in attendance. Was a NM resident at the time which kind of crimped my style, but we usually managed!

I probably won't go since I'm not really in a position to buy anything right now having just replaced furniture and flooring in my son's bedroom. I'm also looking at an insurance deductible for the hail and wind damage we sustained recently. Baseball sized hail and 70mph wind can really do a number on roofing, windows, and siding.

I left Midland in 2007. Still miss West Texas! I always liked the shows at the Coliseum in Odessa.

It can, indeed, Dennis! You have my profound sympathy. That's a situation all of us in this part of the world must deal with on occasion. Lots of violent damage can happen with the weather, but I believe hail damage can be the worst! Hope you get it all sorted!

Just got back from Odessa. If I close my eyes, I can still see endless miles of interstate with lots of empty desert on either side. In some ways the show was a disaster: there weren't all that many vendors, and the gate was abysmal. The sponsors must have lost their shirts. During most fo the show there were probably twice as many people behind tables as in the aisles. Obviously I didn't sell much. However it wa a very successful show for me: I got three very nice S&Ws which I will post in the 'show your new purchases' string when I get some photos made. Also got a few nice knives. Probably go back for the next show in August.
