I watched a live stream of Officer Crain's funeral service. The service just ended and the motorcade will begin shortly.

For those of you unfamiliar with a police officer's funeral, the service is just as important for the officer's department or agency as it is for the officer's family. Officer Crain's service was well attended.

Michael Crain made the decision to serve his country as a United States Marine. After that duty he decided to serve his community as a police officer.

As he was being carried from the church, led by the pipes and drums, escorted by his pallbearers, and honor guard, his ten year old son followed, both hands on the casket. His wife was escorted out, followed by a family member carrying Officer Crain's sobbing four year old daughter.

If you leave a comment here, please make no mention of his murderer.

Officer Michael Crain, I never met you, yet I've met and trained hundreds like you. Police officers, firefighters, and members of the military are never promised they will get to go home after work, but they still serve. I have several friends up there, say hello to them for me.

Ride easy Michael.
