My younger brother is a Police Lieutenant with a Detroit suburban Police Department and he and I are at the Family cabin, for Firearms Deer Season that opens tomorrow.
Well he carries like I do a Gen 3 Glock-22, and his Department is transitioning to a Gen 5 Glock-17.
OK I'll get to the Smith in a moment I promise.
His dilemma is he has a year to go to retirement and while his Department will let him keep his issued Glock upon his retirement the City Manager denied his Chiefs recommendation to allow him one of the new 9mm Glocks saying since he's retiring, he can just use and keep his current Glock.
Well, he wants to buy a blue label G-5 G-17 in 9mm to carry, train, and use until then.
Problem? $398.20…. He says, but he has an as new S&W M&P compact 13 shot .40 with a hand made lyres holster and x tra mag.
No box or manual or anything else ?!?
Do I know anyone who may be interested in it?
Hmm says I, I have a full size 15 rd M&P .40, suppose I give you $400 cash. ( What are big brothers for eh?).
So know I have an as new 2.0 compact in .40 to keep in the family.
Was that a good deal?
What would have come with it originally?
Box or case?
Does Smith sell a box/case, backstrsps, manual?
I took it out behind the cabin and fired off a magazine to function check it, not bad.
Anybody else here shoot and carry one?
What do you think?

I'd say that was a good deal. Probably came with docs, box, 2 mags, 2 mag spacers for full size mags, and small & large backstraps.

It's a good deal if that's what you're willing to pay. But I'd say it's a good deal, too.

Thanks, what else could I do, appears to be well made and I fired one mag with no issues, I don't think I would hesitate to carry it.
Now to find the original extras.

Congrats! $400 is a good price.

You can buy blue hard case made by M&P. Just check which size will work with your handgun.
Backstraps can be found at online stores (Midwest Gun Works is my favorite). They are there occasionally.
Manual - the best option is to download PDF version from S&W website.

I found the back straps and grip to be to aggressive and so discovered that the sig p320 compact Hogue hand all grip fit near perfect.

Mine has the apex trigger, sear, and plunger kit. With the stock s&w springs with these components I have a 4.5 pound trigger pull.

I have night fision night sights with an orange front and green tritium rear.

I carry it in an nsr kydex holster. Mine is the 3.6" .4020201118_094349.jpg20201118_094238.jpg20201118_094251.jpg20201113_164439.jpgreceived_982246591961061.jpg
