With the AR15 accessory bug...

I recently had the forestock on my OR replaced with a keymod rail and low profile block, then had an angled foregrip attached.

But it hasn't stopped!

Over the weekend I replaced the red dot that came with the rifle with a 3-12x40 scope.

Now I'm thinking of putting a new stock on with an adjustable cheek section and a bipod...

Can someone tell me what the cure is?
Please?

BTW. I'm not going for "tacti-cool" but I do like the thought of the challenge of longer range shooting and accuracy, which is why the retirement of the red dot. I'm actually thinking about (as a gag) mounting the red dot on one of my pistols (Desert Eagle)

Sorry, there is no cure! You'll soon need a single/double point sling and extended charging handle.

I have determined that this AR thing is all a conspiracy by the people wanting to sell you accessories. Back in the days of real wooden stocks we bought a nice rifle and maybe a scope. Sure we may have had the action glass embedded the barrel free floated and maybe a better trigger upgrade. We sure didn't hand rails and optics at a 45 degree angle and all the other stuff they want to sell us AR people. Well I did tade a flash light under my barrel for shooting rats at night and a rai would have been nice. Don't get me wrong I am still buying the OR next month. Don

I have went through 5 different Hand guards, unknown amount of optics and several different butt stocks and flashlight mounts bi-pod, vertical grips hand stops, etc. I finally found a Hand guard that I like and butt stock BAD lever extra large safety BCM charging handle, went old school with the rear sight got a carry handle.

I feel your pain. However you are not alone. It has been documented in the American journal of medicine, as ARCAAD (Armalite Rifle Compulsive Accessory Addiction Disease) And according to well known professionals in the field, has no known cure at this time. But research continues, with support groups forming as we speak. Cheers.

You've been talking to JaPes, haven't you? Once he gets his sinister hooks in you, there's no escape. ;) Sorry John, I had to go there. :D You'll probably go through several rounds of dress up before you get it just how you want it. Enjoy the ride, just watch your wallet.

Good Luck and good shooting. :D

I have lots of the toys. black rifles , pistols ect, but I keep going back to my basics. a good revolver, and a wood stock rifle . Like the man said, only the accurate ones are interesting .

the next step is building one. i started off by building my first AR(not counting the 15-22). It's the fun of researching and choosing all of those things but with the added enjoyment of choosing a barrel, muzzle device, trigger, grip, etc. then once one is "done" you want to start another. i finished one last november, my wife finished hers mid-may. I'm thinking number 3 already.

top left is mine, bottom is the wife's, top right is the 15-22.

Here is mine!!

Here is my M&P 15 Sport with all my addictive add-on's.

I just got it back from the shop, got a new barrel and Front sight post installed. For some reason my other barrel went out after 2,000 rounds.

The other phenomena is that for every upgraded part, an unused part goes into the spare parts inventory. Eventually, there are enough spare parts to build another rifle ("...if I only had a stripped lower I'd have...").

Eventually the needed lower appears as if by magic, and then all of those spare parts morph into a complete rifle which, of course" is not as smooth as the "main" gun but will be smoother as soon as it gets a new trigger... And so on.

It only begins to end when the weight of the 122 guns and three parts are awarded to your wife in the divorce settlement.

My 15T in CQB gear. I plan to get a 20" barreled, long scoped upper for long range SHTF and Zombies.

Good for all of you. You may need those rifles someday soon.

Well I am once again on the market for the perfect handguard, one that will function and not mess up, any suggestions on a budget not to heavy sturdy quad rail for the M&P 15 sport rifle. I would like one with the continuous rail on top the joins the receiver. I have tried several and it was either a weight issue or the one that you have to screw on the rails would strip out the screws with continuous use. Need something that will hold up to bi-pod usage vertical grip and not break the bank and weight to much.
